This handout accompanied the Introduction to Teaching Culture session by Dr. Erin Kearney at the Penn FLTA Orientation in 2007. It includes a brief introduction to culture pedagogy and situates it in the framework of the National Standards. Kearney gives some ideas to keep in mind for teaching practice and some suggestions for further reading. She ended the
session by leading a discussion of the Dunkin Donuts "Fritulian" commercial (available on youtube.com).
