Teaching Culture by the Textbook and beyond the Textbook

This presentation addresses how to teach culture in beginning German language classes via both textbook activities and the creation of supplemental materials which go beyond the textbook and which enrich the thematic and cultural contents of the textbook (using a variety of sources, e.g. songs, literature, podcasts), thereby allowing students to explore culture in a more tangible way and to develop their cultural competence.
